Special event! Stories of the Haida and Squamish people featuring Kung Jaadee: February 27, 2022

We’re excited to welcome a special guest, Kung Jaadee, in a live virtual Zoom presentation on Sunday, February 27, at 2:00 pm PST.

Kung Jaadee, also known as Roberta Kennedy, is a professional storyteller, educator and published author belonging to the X̱aayda (Haida),  xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) First Nations. Over the past 28 years, she has shared stories about the rich cultural traditions and history of her peoples. She has been a Gwaii Haanas artist-in-residence at the Haida Gwaii Museum, and an Indigenous Storyteller in Residence at the Vancouver Public Library and the University of Manitoba. She teaches the Haida language, and has published children’s books and curriculum textbooks. Admission is free for guild members. If you are just dropping in to this virtual event, the suggested donation is $10, which can be made in three ways: via Paypal (paypal.me/storytellersvictoria), an e-transfer to treasurer@victoriastorytellers.org, or you can contact us to obtain a mailing address for a cheque.
